What To Do Next?

Think of the following as a bucket list – a list of things I want to do or achieve before I ‘kick the bucket’. Some of them are boring, grown-up stuff; others are exciting, adventurous stuff. Let’s check it out:

  • Witness the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights)
  • Road-trip Iceland’s famous Ring Road
  • Build my own home (preferably a log cabin)
  • Witness a geyser erupt
  • Open an Etsy store (not an empty one…actually sell things in it)
  • Swim in Iceland’s Blue Lagoon
  • Ride the fastest zipline in Europe (it’s only in Wales so I have no excuse)
  • Grown my own vegetables
  • Obtain a degree in Environmental Science or Studies
  • Learn to knit
  • Spend at least one month travelling through South-East Asia (ugh…needles)
  • Go back and visit St. Helena (an island I lived on for 4 years – Google it if you’ve never heard of it…it’s pretty cool)
  • Stand behind Seljalandsfoss waterfall in Iceland
  • Renovate a car/van/bus into a sustainable home-on-wheels
  • Adopt a rescue dog
  • Work remotely
  • Road trip Scotland
  • Move to a different country
  • Own a rat (well…two rats because they don’t like to live alone)
  • Completely quit alcohol (I’m already 98% there – I can’t remember the last time I had a ‘drink’)
  • Start a YouTube channel
  • Volunteer for a charitable organisation I feel passionate about
  • Walk the Inca Trail (or simply be able to walk up the stairs and not loose my breath)
  • Visit the Arctic Circle
  • Road trip the rest of the UK and Ireland (Scotland already complete)
  • Camp in England’s Lake District
  • Be able to do 10 push-ups (or even just 1…please…)
  • Learn to crochet*
  • Take up yoga
  • Find and log a geocache (check this out if you’ve never heard of it – it’s pretty fun)
  • Stand under a waterfall
  • Go to San Diego Comic-Con (I’ve been to Newcastle Comic-Con but I’m definitely not counting that)
  • Go to the ballet
  • Get a henna tattoo in India
  • Learn how to read tarot cards (I’ve got my cards – now to learn how to use them)
  • Start a blog
  • Learn to code*
  • Celebrate Christmas in a different country
  • Visit all 7 continents
  • Walk between two continents
  • Go whale-watching (I’ve done this before but I was way too young to remember/appreciate so I’m not counting it)
  • Learn another language* (preferably German)

*in progress

If there’s anything you’ve experienced that you reckon I shouldn’t miss out on – feel free to comment and let me know and maybe I’ll add it to my list!
